Figurizm Alpha Jujutsu Kaisen – Fushiguro Megumi –
This is not what I expected, and honestly, I’m a little disappointed… but it’s also my fault. 😂
First, the obvious: the size. I expected this to be around 24cm, but to my surprise, it’s only 20cm. It’s not the first 20cm FIGURIZMα either, both the Toji and Megumi FIGURIZMα released in 2024 are also around 20cm.
Now, the details.
Divine Dog actually looks really good. I especially like the fur/hair sculpt, there’s a lot of detail there and it gives the dog some nice texture.
I also really like that there’s actual shading on this figure. It helps bring out the details and makes the overall piece pop more.
But I’m not a fan of the black/shadow effect. I understand what they were going for, with Divine Dog coming out of Megumi’s shadow, but the glossy black paint makes it feel a little cheap to me. The base also feels pretty thin and cheap looking.
And am I the only one who thinks Divine Dog looks like it’s smiling? 🤣
As for Megumi, he looks okay. The likeness is ok, and I like the shading, but there’s not much going on with the character himself. Compared to some other FIGURIZMα, the sculpt feels pretty simple, and there’s also a section of his hair that looks noticeably flat.
Honestly, I feel like Divine Dog carried this figure. 😂 It has the better sculpt, more detail, and definitely grabs more attention on the shelf.
Overall, the figure still looks good, but it’s just not what I expected from it. Part of that is definitely on me for not checking the actual dimensions beforehand. 😂
I just wish the base and shadow effect were thicker and had a more matte finish. I think that would have made the whole piece feel much better.
