【Synopsis】

Toka Kurosaki and Ebony Leyla have crossed the sea to a foreign land.

As a grand international exposition approaches in a major European city, a secret order works behind the scenes to complete a massive mechanical weapon.

Eleanor, once Toka’s rival, continues to fight her own battle alongside Byakudan no Regilis.

The two acknowledge each other’s strength, yet neither is willing to simply stand side by side.
Even so, the paths they have chosen for themselves gradually lead them toward the same battlefield.

An assault drop from an airship.
A battle at Central Station.
Fighting through the city.
And finally, a confrontation at the Exposition.

To stop a massive karakuri machine from running out of control, Ebony Leyla and Byakudan no Regilis move into battle once again.

—Beyond the sparks, two wills choose the same fight.

【About This Project】

This is an original animated music video inspired by a fictional second season of the TV anime “Ebony Leyla.”

The world established in the first season—drawing inspiration from Japan’s period of modernization and Taisho-era aesthetics—continues here, while the setting moves to a fictional European metropolis.

The story expands in scale through an airship assault drop, battles at Central Station and throughout the city, and a final confrontation against a giant karakuri machine at an international exposition.

Ebony Leyla is a compact mechanical unit standing approximately four meters tall.

Rather than focusing on slow, heavyweight battles between giant machines, the action was designed around the speed, agility and physical movement made possible by Leyla’s relatively small size.

Another major focus of this project is the relationship between Eleanor, Toka’s former rival, and her machine, Byakudan no Regilis.

Their relationship is not presented as a straightforward alliance.
They continue to act according to their own beliefs and intentions, yet ultimately find themselves confronting the same enemy.

Rather than following the structure of a standard 90-second TV anime opening, this project places greater emphasis on story and action.

The concept was to create something between an anime opening and a full-length music video—as if a complete theme-song MV had been produced for this fictional series.

【Production Concept】

The project began by imagining that “Ebony Leyla” was a fictional four-cour TV anime, then developing the story of what might happen during its latter two cours.

From that imagined storyline, the world, characters, mechanical designs, costumes, organizations, environments and locations were developed.

Concept sheets and storyboards were then created from those settings, and each scene was produced based on that material before being reconstructed and directed as a complete music video.

There is no actual full anime series behind this project.

The approach was instead:

“Create the story and production setting of an anime that does not exist, then create a music video from that fictional production.”

【Production Workflow】

Seedance 2.0 R2V (Reference to Video) was used as the primary video-generation tool.

Character, mechanical and environment design sheets created in advance were used as visual references when producing the action sequences.

Seedance Mini was used for supplementary shots and scenes where closer adherence to the storyboard was required.

The generated footage was not used completely as-is.

After Effects was used to correct generation artifacts, unwanted objects, broken geometry, and inconsistencies in characters and mechanical designs, as well as for compositing work.

The resulting material was then assembled in DaVinci Resolve, where the final cut, timing, color adjustment, visual effects and sound work were completed.

Multiple generated shots and manually corrected elements were ultimately combined into a single finished film.
