Black Torch Episode 1 Review ๐ฅ๐โโฌ
After Episode 1, I have just one thing to say:
I see why the manga got cancelled. ๐ญ
Kid meets powerful monster.
Kid dies protecting monster.
Monster moves into kidโs body.
Secret government agency shows up.
And OF COURSE somebody in his family has history with them.
Anime Mad Libs. ๐
Jiro and Rago arenโt terrible, but Episode 1 gave me almost zero reason to care about either of them. And when another anime airing in the same Summer 2026 season is doing a very similar concept with more emotion and character depthโฆ Black Torch isnโt exactly helping itself.
The funniest part?
Iโm still gonna finish it. ๐
It comes out dubbed, so Black Torch has officially earned the prestigious title of:
โAnime I put on while doing something else.โ
But does Black Torch deserve to go Beyond Episode One?
โ Nah. Not yet.
Anybody else watching Black Torch? Am I being too hard on it? ๐๐
