Hi and thanks again for tuning in.
This video shows the cosmetic restoration of a 1972 Aston Martin DBS Vantage.
The car came to us in need of a colour change, the client didn’t like the colour which was Olive Green Metallic, the exact colour of the Aston Martin DBS in the 1969 James Bond film On Her Majesty’s Secret Service with George Lazenby.
This car had obviously been repainted in that colour as nod to that film but our client wanted something different so chose Black Pearl as the final colour.
Once we had removed all the material there were signs of fatigue so the ok was given to remover the front and rear aluminium clips and take care of any corrosion to those and any metal work on the car. The steel work on the car and the clips were thoroughly prepared, coated in epoxy primer the 2k satin polyurethane stonechip.
The front and rear clips were then offered back on and tig welded into place, the aluminium exterior was regarded and body filed before being levelled, primed, prepared and painted.
Before refit it was flat and polished.
Our aim is to create and share what we do with you, showing some of the processes and hopefully giving more of an insight into us achieving the results we do.
If anyone has any questions I’ll do my best to answer them.
Thanks again for tuning in, it really is appreciated and please like, subscribe or share..
