In 2001, the S-Class Pullman limousine was introduced in the body VV220. The length of the wheelbase increased by 1 meter, the chassis and body were reinforced. At the time of release, the lineup consisted of two engine options: a 5.0-liter V8 (225 kW / 306 hp) and a V12. The S 600 was equipped with the 270 kW (367 hp) V12 M137 engine. The engine delivered a maximum torque of 530 Nm at 4100 rpm and guaranteed maximum acceleration, elasticity and ride comfort in every driving situation. The engineers had also made substantial progress in the area of fuel consumption. Moreover, the new V12 powertrain met the Euro 4 emission standards.
