Here's a weird one. I've been helping Felix with his 2002 BMW M5, but I am now coming to the community to ask for more advice. Please continue reading:
Symptoms: Red battery light on cluster. Oil temp sensor constantly reporting maximum temperature (207 degrees). Battery voltage is measured at 14v.
Steps taken so far: The oil level and temperature sensor has been replaced with an OEM BMW sensor. Test #21 (cluster reset) has been executed on the instrument cluster. Battery has been disconnected from the vehicle overnight. None of this has changed the oil sensor problem.
Does Felix have a bad instrument cluster? Did he get a bad sensor from BMW? We would very much appreciate your thoughts! Thanks guys.
