At the Nürburgring I have filmed the BMW X4 M being push hard on track.
From the look to the wheels, some can say that this is a real M vehicle, not just a sport-package. Despite some rumors, the 2019 X4M doesn't use the same inline-six engine from the M3/M4, but a new straight-six engine, which will make its way on the future M3 and M4.
The new 3.0-liter unit, twin-turbocharged, is the most powerful six-cylinder engine built by BMW. It offers 480 hp and 600 Nm (442 lb-ft) of torque for the X4M and 510 hp for the X4 M Competition. The 8-speed automatic transmission sends the power to the all four wheels via a version of the M xDrive all-wheel-drive system, which made its debut in the 2018 BMW M5. Performances are on top of its game with a 0 to 100 kph (62 mph) in 4.2 seconds, while the X4 M Competition can do the same sprint in just 4.1 seconds.
The look of the new X4 M is enhanced with a new design for the front bumper, with larger air-scoops and an apron. Some other aerodynamic details are visible on the car and are completed with the new, optional, 20” M light-alloy wheels.
