Nissan R34 GTR Mine´s and Nismo R1 V0.5
Of Japan’s best tuned Skylines is this Mine’s V-Spec N1. It’s been tuned, not so much for show, as much as to lap Japan’s tracks as fast as possible. It was made famous after an appearance on Best Motoring where ‘drift king’ Keiichi Tsuchiya and Manabu Orido did some hot laps in the car and where surprised by its raw power and responsive handling.
What's better than a stock Nissan Skyline GT-R? Why, a Skyline GT-R chock full of high-performance bits fitted by the Japanese company's in-house tuner, Nismo, of course. Thus, the Nismo Skyline GT-R R-Tune was born. The engine, designated the R1, not only gained a new turbocharger and racing camshaft, but also received the hot-rod treatment, including a full balancing and polished ports, which allowed it to rev above 8,000 rpm and produce a full 443 HP.
Pukekohe Park Raceway, located in the Auckland Region of the North Island, has been in operation since 1963. Probably New Zealand´s most iconic motor racing circuit. It hosts internationally renowned events like the ITM Auckland SuperSprint and the annual visit of the Toyota Gazoo Racing Series. The Pukekohe Park circuit is 2.9km in length, therefor limited to 28 cars, and is arguably the fastest track in New Zealand. Both long straight end in very fast chicanes. A tricky hairpin leads the cars on the sweeping start-finish straight.
