Completed at the Mercedes-Benz Sindelfingen factory in August of 1989, this exceptional 560 SEL was delivered new to AMG Japan for further fettling prior to delivery to its first owner. It is thus equipped with the hand-built 6.0-litre AMG version of the M117 V-8 engine with four-valve heads. Its peak power output of 375 bhp makes it a very different proposition to the standard 560 SEL with its 285 bhp. The AMG body kit was also added, alongside three-piece split-rim wheels, an AMG instrument cluster, steering wheel, and over mats. Pre-merger AMG build numbers are notoriously scarce, but it is believed that less than 200 of these 6.0 SELs were made.
