Its been almost 3 years since the new A8 was released and we’ve been waiting so long for the S8. Now it’s here and it’s awesome. Went to Barcelona in Spain for the press launch, and here is footage and details of the new V8 TwinTurbo petrol luxury beast. First thing is the amount of horsepower. Bear in mind that the former S8 has 51hp less, and the engineers wanted to have e decent improvement of the previous generation, but also with the ”Plus” version probably not coming for this generation, they wanted to make it at least as fast as the previous Plus, but still have a big of distance to their RS6/7 models. Again, this is a luxury performance limousine, and not an Audi RS. Subtile styling is also a proof of that. Second thing I’d like to mention, and it’s also the thing that the Audi engineers are mostly proud of about this car, is the adaptive suspension, which is just insane. It makes the S8 feel like an S4 on curvy roads, and once it may not be quite as fast in a straight line race as an S63 or M760Li, it will demolish them on a racetrack. The suspension does wonders. For example on curves, it doesn’t make the car lean out, but instead in like a motorcycle. It’s just crazy once you’re behind the wheel and feel it yourself. I’m massively impressed by the handling of such a big car. Moreover, it is the perfect mixture of luxury and performance, and it sounds quite good even with the OPF filter and the new regulations. Audi also told me that the S8 had to be petrol with real exhaust, cause it was a customer demand. And I thank them so much for that. I thin I would go puke somewhere in a bucket if the S8 would be a diesel. Enjoy! Don’t miss the high quality photos from this session as well. Check them out at the Facebook.com/Auditography page, where you can also download them in high quality for your wallpapers.
