2020 Toyota C-HR Hybrid Release Date Interior and Exterior - In Japan, Toyota is much more than just a car maker. In fact, it’s such a massive company that it even has its own city (rather unimaginatively called Toyota) that’s slightly bigger than Coventry to house its employees. Having such a huge workforce allows it to not only have a broad range of global models but also gives it the ability to create cars for specific markets. Cars like the Toyota C-HR – a family SUV designed to appeal specifically to European tastes.

On the design changes, the 2020 and 2019 C-HR would make for a wonderful subject to play "spot the differences." After refreshing my own memory to identify the changes, the 2020 model year sports a different lower front bumper, most prominently. It's a little more chiseled and new headlights smooth out other hard edges the C-HR previously housed. The grille and rear spoiler are also new this year to round out the major body changes.

The new 2020 Toyota C-HR remains true to the visual identity which has made it such a success, its coupe-like lines creating a bold style that continues to stand out. Both the front and rear have received detailed attention, bringing added refinement to the shape, while a colour-coordinated lower lip reinforces a strong, wide and elevated stance. Front lights are upgraded to premium LED technology, with the daytime running lights and indicators combined into one frontal projector that emits a single smooth line above the main beam. At the rear, the new combination lights are connected by a gloss black spoiler creating a single clean shape.

Inside, the biggest change is the introduction of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. These allow you to operate your favourite smartphone apps through the car’s touchscreen and bypass Toyota's own infotainment software, which remains laggy and distracting to use, despite an upgrade. Elsewhere, there's now more soft-touch plastic on the doors, although the C-HR still doesn't feel quite as plush as the Karoq or 3008. And while the the front seats now feature extra side bolstering, they don't actually hold you in place particularly well.
